February 11, 2008 by souloperator
This is the debut episode of Black Girl In. Taken from the book Black Girl In Paris written by Shay Youngblood, BLack Girl In… the new podcast from iLoveUPeople.com is a travel and tour log of artist Hanifah Walidah. As a member of the massive multi-national neofunk band The Brooklyn Funk Essentials, Hanifah will video tape her and the bands journey across the world as the promote their latest album “Watcha Playin’” due out in March 2008.
In this first episode, Hanifah and the band travel to Stockholm, Sweden for a couple of winter dates where they practice news songs off of the album. Hanifah is jetlagged, Swedish newspapers report on Obama’s grandmama and Lati Kronlund (bass player and band leader) talk about how Swedish folks find it hard to show pride.
