Thanks for the Zeneli Muholi interview. I’ve seen her work and always wondered who was the artist. She is amazing, and now that I have a name, I will research her and her work.

As for the hat Hanifah, well I gotta say that I’m with Olive on this one. It would have worked if it wasn’t for the ball thing on top. Normally, you and Olive have a great sense of style and taste, but I can’t see that hat looking good even with the linen pants and color coordination. Don’t worry, I’ll still watch if you wear it.

I am disappointed you did not win, but don’t let it deter you. You women are wonderful and poweful and sometimes your brand of excellence can scare others…. Keep moving forward, we, Women of Color, desperately need you to continue your work. You are opening doors and changing attitudes. You are our generation’s pioneers.

As always, I love U People.

So…On The Hat…Yea, That Ball On The Top…Not So Much…Reminds Of The Classic Golf Hats With The Little Ball On Top, LOL…That Come With The Matching Club Covers With The Same Knit Ball On Them :-)

With That Said, I Was Somehow Able To Digest You Wearing The Hat At The Close Of The Episode…Interesting…But I Still Couldn’t Take You Seriously Though, LOL…SO I’ll Have To Say Negativo On The Hat :-(

i am very happy that u had a person like Zenele Muholi on your blog. it really helped me strive on as a african woman who is a lesbian. you see, i am nigerian, by birth and by all marvel, but this lifestyle is unacceptable and many have lost so much, if they mentioned their (out of the norm) sexuality. i have also come across her work and just gazed/trembled at her work; i was so excited. i am not out yet, and sometimes feel as though “if i was to be out, what other african woman is out there too”. in my culture, it has been beamed in my head to be submissive to my husband, so this also is a factor. did i mention i love women, they are so beautiful and caring.

wow, by the way, i was in the village on monday “memorial day”. all i can say is wow. my mind could not believe there was a place like this. i was blown outta of my cute outfit(i was on a date)

i will try to be at you people’s party and at the discussion seminar. it should be fun, hope i can invited friends?

    p/s
i need more information on ZENELE, please…..thanx.

keep up the good work, u guyz are always a winner in my eyes. your work is crucial to me and many others who do not really have a voice.

    Odabo/bye
