THE U MUSIC DROPS WIDGET

The U Music Drops widget is the service we are excited to provide to U People. It is a fun way to receive new independent music from all genres and will work in the same countdown fashion as introduced with the Born Again American Series. GET YOUR WIDGET AND SHARE IT TODAY!

We hope that through the 2008 U People download card we have gained your trust in music. We are excited about the rich volume of new independent music we look forward to sharing with you each week. If you are an independent artist, label or DJ and want us to review and feature your music please contact us at umusic@iloveupeople.com with a link to your music. But please first read our terms of use (just below) so we remain on the same page. We are open to original songs, conceptual 10 minute DJ mixes (much like Born Again American), recorded poetry.

TERMS OF USE (Straight No chaser)

The U Music Widget is a copyright and service of U People LLC.

If we feature your music of mix on the U Music Drops widget:

WE…

  • Do not own your music in any way shape or form
  • Will feature your music on the widget for 7 days
  • provide you with a means ot promote your music, band/DJ name, label
  • provide links and general information (bio, artist statement) within the widget to for the time period your music is featured.
  • We will have a permanent link within the U Music blog where feedback and comments from fans can be viewed.
  • We provide you with statistics of just how many people listened, downloaded your music during your week
  • We will let you know at least a week ahead of time before your music debuts in order to promote to friends, fans.
  • We have the right to not use any images given to us by you and can opt to use imagery of our own to feature on teh widget with your music.

YOU…

  • if you are an independent band, artist, poet, DJ and have been selected to be featured: you must provide us with a high qaulity MP3 of your song/mix.
  • will provide us with a quality 450×300 photo, illustration that best represents your music, song, mix to be featured ont eh front cover of teh widget. We can reserve the right to refuse your images and replace them with our own. You must deliver your imagery for reviewat least 1 week before your music debuts or we will use our own imagery.

The imagery is just as important as the music with the U Music Drops widget. We prefer conceptual imagery, original artwork over standard press photos or photos that say everythignabout the artist but nothing about the song. The widget cover is about representing the song.

  • will deliver a press photo 450×300 press photo for the artist info page on the widget along with a short (no longer than 100 words) bio and artist statement (100 words) for use in teh widget. Please also provide alonger version of your bio and/or artist statement for the U Music Blog. Also send us a link to yoru myspace or artist/label website.
  • You agree that the rights of your music, samples, sound bites, recordings are 100% owned by you or your company.
  • DJ’s must give us a list of all songs, samples used in the mix for credit listing.
  • DJ mixes should be no longer than 10 minutes

You will asked to review and sign a more indepth agreement upon selection and of your song. Failure to deliver materials and signed contract upon due date will delay the featuring of your song on the U Music Widget.
